About Surrey

The county of Surrey is home to 110,000 businesses and contributes more than £50 billion a year in GVA to the UK economy.

Surrey is a great place to do business. It has a highly skilled workforce, esteemed educational and research institutions, and a desirable location. We’re already home to world-leading sectors. These include createch, cybersecurity, gaming, and health.

The blend of international corporations, innovative start-ups, and many micro-businesses and SMEs means we have a vibrant business scene.

Business Surrey is committed to nurturing that – providing practical support while working with partners to develop a coherent economic strategy for the whole of the county.

About the speaker

I am an ‘inspiring helper’ with over 25 years commercial experience gained working with high-level executives in recognisable companies such as BUPA, RSA, Reuters, TUI and the Daily Mail Group. This has given me great insight into how corporations run effectively and understand the necessities of strategy planning.  At the opposite end of the scale, I have also provided support to small local companies in the construction, HR, events and education sectors.

With this breadth of experience, I can bring a wealth of business advice and inspiration to anyone looking for ways to grow their business and enjoy the journey. I bring humour, empathy and an element of zen to my working relationships and love the ‘aha’ look in people’s eyes when things fall into place and their pain points are erased!

Outside work, I like to practise my knitting, do aqua yoga, volunteer with my local parish and I’m an also an active member of my local amateur theatre company.

The Chamber’s monthly Networking Breakfasts are very popular, so do book early. Business people from the Mole Valley district and the surrounding areas come together to meet, eat and network in the third week of each month.

There is a wide range of people who attend from all sectors and all sizes. From sole traders and start-ups, to some of the biggest businesses in the district.

Each month there is a guest speaker, who talk about their own experiences of running a business and their own personal journey or give an insight into their particular skills and sector.

What you can expect:

  • Make new connections through our informal networking.
  • Get an introduction if there’s someone you’d like to meet.
  • Find new local customers and suppliers.

If it is your first breakfast or you haven’t attended in a while the Chamber Directors are always on hand to make introductions.
