LATEST BUSINESS SUPPORT GRANTS NEWS FROM MOLE VALLEY DISTRICT COUNCIL – 27th January 2021
Mole Valley is under national lockdown restrictions. This means that certain businesses must stay closed. There are three Government business support grant schemes for the national lockdown period, commencing 5 January 2021:
1. Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG for closed businesses)
Businesses who received LRSG in the previous lockdown will be paid automatically. There will be an application form here for new applicants as soon as possible.
2. Closed Business Lockdown Payment (CBLP)
One-off top up grants up to £9,000 for businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, announced by the Chancellor on 5 January 2021. Businesses previously in receipt of LRSG will receive this grant automatically.
There will be an application form here for new applicants as soon as possible.
3. Additional Restrictions Grant (discretionary grant)

15th January 2021 – FRIENDS AGAINST SCAMS – National Trading Standards Scams Team.
We would like to draw your attention to the www.friendsagainstscams.org website which is run by National Trading Standards Scams team. There is a wealth of information on the site but you can also register for online sessions geared at being able to recognise a scam, what you can do to protect yourself and how to report it if you are a victim of a scam. Mole Valley Chamber of Commerce elects a new Board Director. More information can be read on Tony Fleming, of Pathfinder Project Management, as well as our other Directors on our Board page HERE.
Mole Valley Chamber of Commerce have taken the decision to suspend the prize draw aspect of the Shop Local Campaign until the new lockdown measures are eased and we can move around with a little more ease again. We are still encouraging people to look locally when shopping online rather than an automatic search for the bigger companies. Companies are invited to send their trading status and news to us at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can communicate this with a wider audience.
