Wine tasting event in Leatherhead with Beyond the Cork
Do you buy wine by simply going for the prettiest label, a familiar grape, or whatever’s in your usual price bracket? Ever wished you knew more about what you’ll actually enjoy, even if you’ve never heard of it before?
Mole Valley Chamber is hosting a wine tasting event at Leatherhead Football Club on Wednesday 21 October 2026, and whether you’re after a simple quaffing wine or something to pair with your next dinner party, this is an educational but genuinely fun evening you won’t want to miss. Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a Chamber member, run a business anywhere in Surrey, or you’re simply curious and fancy a good night out for a good reason.
We’ve teamed up with Beyond the Cork for an evening called Beyond the Cork: discover, taste, enjoy.
What to expect at this wine tasting evening
The evening starts with a glass of fizz on arrival, followed by a guided tasting of six further wines, each introduced by a qualified wine expert. Rather than sticking to one country or grape, the lineup takes you on a journey, tasting a range of wines from the cheap to the not so cheap, in price as well as in quality, starting with approachable, good value everyday wines and building towards some genuinely unusual discoveries and a couple of premium bottles.
This isn’t a formal wine lecture, and you don’t need to know anything about wine to enjoy it. Beyond the Cork’s Simon Benstead will introduce each wine to the room, sharing a little about where it’s from and what to look for, before everyone’s free to mingle, taste and chat. Simon will move around the room throughout the evening, so there’s plenty of chance to ask questions or just talk wine.
Wines tasted on the night will also be available to order afterwards, so if you discover a new favourite, you won’t have to say goodbye to it at the end of the evening.
Who should come to this wine tasting event
This one’s for you if you like meeting new people in a setting that doesn’t feel like a stand-up networking event. It’s for members who want to introduce a colleague or client to the Chamber. It’s for non-members curious about what Mole Valley Chamber actually does. And it’s for anyone across Dorking, Leatherhead, Surrey and beyond who fancies a proper evening out with a purpose.
Whether you’re hoping to make a few useful connections through Surrey business networking, learn something about your own palate, or just enjoy a relaxed Wednesday evening away from the desk, you’ll find something to take from it.
Do bring someone along. A client you’d like to thank, a colleague you think would enjoy it, a friend who’s curious about wine, or a partner looking for a good excuse for a night out, everyone’s welcome, and it’s a great low-key way to introduce people to the Chamber without any pressure to join on the spot.
