MOLE VALLEY CHAMBER MEMBERS ONLY EVENT

Ever wondered what it’s really like inside the Houses of Parliament? Here’s your chance to find out.

Mole Valley Chamber has secured an exclusive members-only tour of the Houses of Parliament on Wednesday 4 November 2026 at 12:00. This is a rare opportunity to step inside one of the most famous buildings in the world and see the working heart of British democracy up close. Places are strictly limited to 20, so this one will go quickly.

What to expect

Your guided tour will take you through the historic halls, chambers and corridors where centuries of political history have been made. From the grandeur of Westminster Hall to the debating chambers themselves, you’ll get a genuine behind the scenes look at how Parliament works, guided by those who know it best.

Why we’re offering this

As a chamber, we’re always looking for ways to give our members something a little different. A trip to the Houses of Parliament isn’t something most of us get to tick off casually, and we wanted to make it accessible to as many members as possible. That’s why we’ve kept the price nominal at just £10 per person, purely to cover costs. Think of it as one of the perks of being part of the Mole Valley business community.

Getting there and through security

Security at Parliament is thorough, similar to what you’d expect at an airport, so it’s worth planning ahead. You and your belongings will be searched before entry, and the queue starts outside the building, so dress for the weather. Waiting times average up to 30 minutes, rising to around 45 minutes on Wednesday afternoons when things get busier, so please arrive in good time. We’d recommend being at the entrance by 11.15am at the latest to allow for security checks before the 12.00 start.

Photo ID is not a legal requirement to enter Parliament, but it is recommended that you bring some form of identification with you, just in case.

Meeting point

Please enter via the Cromwell Green Visitors Entrance and make your way into Westminster Hall, where you’ll find the Tours Co-ordinator’s desk. You’ll exit at the end of the tour via Carriage Gates. A map showing both will be sent to everyone booked on before the day with any further instructions.

Afterwards, why not stay a little longer

Once the tour wraps up, there’ll be a chance to relocate to The Red Lion on Parliament Street, a historic Fuller’s pub just a three minute walk away that has been a favourite haunt of politicians, journalists and prime ministers for generations. A relaxed way to carry on the conversation and enjoy a bit of Westminster history over a drink, entirely optional and at your own expense.
